1. Burj Khalifa

High-rise Elevator Profile:

Manufactured by the world-leading Otis Elevator Company, Burj Khalifa's 57 high-rise elevators are unlike any other skyscraper. Twenty-four of these are machine room-less elevators (MRL) Gen2 ™, which feature refined interior design and cutting-edge technology. Two are double-deck observation elevators, each with a capacity of 21 people. But most importantly, all of the tower's elevators travel up and down the 162 floors at a record speed: 10 m/s. Prysmian was involved in the early stages of electrical wiring planning for elevator systems. Custom elevator travel and hoistway cables are developed to meet the specific needs of the project. For example, copper/fiber optic hybrid elevator travel cables were developed to combine the unique component combination of fiber optic switches with multiple shielded communication pairs and power conductors.

 

2. Shanghai Tower

Shanghai Tower is famous for being the tallest twisted tower in the world and the second tallest building in the world. Now, three new Guinness World Records have been added to its résumé. Shanghai Tower officially has the world's fastest elevator, the highest elevator in the building, and the fastest double-deck elevator.

The fastest high-rise elevators in central Shanghai can reach speeds of 20.5 meters per second or 45.8 miles per hour. To reach those speeds, however, Mitsubishi technicians needed to be present to push the proverbial red button and send the elevator into the hyperdrive.

Without a technician, all most people experience in the center of Shanghai is riding an elevator at a speed of just 40 mph.

High-rise Elevator Profile:

Shenzhen Ping An Financial Center, which includes office and retail space, is 599 meters high, making it the second tallest building in China and currently the fourth tallest building in the world. The building's high-rise elevators feature Schindler 7000 series elevators and Schindler's cutting-edge PORT transportation management technology. This high-rise optimized elevator model provides more efficient transportation. Ping An Financial Center also benefits from Schindler's leading efficient public transport management technology PORT. 5. Lotte World Tower

At 555 meters high, Lotte World Tower is the first building in Korea to exceed 100 floors. The building's high-rise elevators are uniquely designed and supplied by Otis.

Otis has partnered with LG Electronics to turn a one-minute journey into an amazing experience. Organic LED (OLED) screens cover the walls and ceiling of each cabin. With the doors closed, passengers will find themselves immersed in a virtual tour of the city's history and landmarks, including the 14th-century Gyeongbokgung Palace, the National Assembly Building, Jamsil Baseball Stadium and Lotte World Tower itself. Each double-deck lift can carry 54 passengers at a time - certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest lift.

 

6. One World Trade Center

High-rise Elevator Profile:

ThyssenKrupp installed the fastest elevators in North and South America at the One World Tade Center in New York. The technology group also supplies stainless steel for the tower's spire.

The five high-rise elevators serving the observatory represent a major engineering feat, capable of traveling at nearly 23 mph and climbing to the 102nd floor in 60 seconds. At this speed, the elevator almost surpassed Usain Bolt's 100-meter sprint world record.

The material for the spire of One World Trade Center was supplied by Ken-Mac Metals, a U.S. subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp. The top weighs about 6.3 metric tons. Another US subsidiary, thyssenkrupp Engineered Plastics, supplied special plastic boxes to protect the roots of the 500 trees at the foot of the building. Planning for the elevator's key components was done by a network of experts from eight countries, including the cabin, motors, cables, 4 million pounds of track and complex software.

 

7. Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre

Elevator Brand: Hitachi

High-rise Elevator Profile:

Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Financial Center has 95 high-rise elevators made by Hitachi, including two of the fastest elevators in the world. In 2014, Hitachi announced that the two elevators would be capable of speeds of 1,200 m/min (3,900 ft/min) and would take passengers from floor 1 to floor 95 in approximately 43 seconds on a 440 m (1,450 ft) long shaft.

In June 2017, the elevator was tested after being retrofitted to allow it to deliver faster speeds above its rated speed of 20 m/s, and successfully reached a top speed of 21 m/s (69 feet). /s).

To achieve top speed, the elevators in Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Financial Center use permanent magnet synchronous motors. Air pressure is adjusted to prevent ear plugs, and the elevator has rollers for a smooth ride. Additionally, emergency brakes can withstand temperatures up to 300 °C (572 °F). In addition to the two fastest elevators, the building has 28 double-deck elevators (speed 150-450 m/min.), 13 high-speed elevators (210-600 m/min.) and 52 medium and low-speed elevators. The designer chose the double-deck elevator to minimize the number of elevator shafts. Offices, apartments and hotels all have separate elevators.

 

8. Tianjin CTF Finance Centre

Tianjin CTF Finance Center is a new skyscraper 530 meters above the Binhai Business District in downtown Tianjin, China. Designed to LEED® standards, the 100-story complex will feature 103 Otis elevators and escalators, including 20 Elevonic® elevators operating at 10 meters per second and 27 Gen2® Comfort machine room-less elevators .

10. Taipei 101

Elevator Brand: Toshiba

High-rise Elevator Profile:

The high-rise elevators in Taipei 101 were installed and manufactured by Toshiba, which installed 61 elevators and used KONE EcoDisc motors. Toshiba has launched an ultra-high-speed elevator with a running speed of 1010m/min, which is equivalent to 60.6km/h. Toshiba has made significant improvements in technology, successfully developing elevators that can resist gravity at the aforementioned high speeds without sacrificing ride comfort and passenger safety.
